BRISBANE, June 28.
The Australian Rugby Union selectors today named 60 players to play in trial
matches for selection in the Wallabies, team to tour New Zealand in August.
The.players are:— Full-backs: Casey (New South Wales), D. Cosson (Western Australia), Ryan (N.S.W.), J. Lenehan (N.S.W.)
Wings: W. Hughes (N.S.W.), Morton (N.S.W.), S. Boyce. (N.S.W.), Collins (Queensland), R. Wilson (Victoria), J. Williams (N.S.W.), P. Dawson (Qld.), D. Grimmond (N.S.W.). Centres: Honan (Qld.), Carroll (N.S.W.), Marks (Qld.), Ellwood (N.S.W.), Dent (Qld.), Core (Qld.), J. Boyce (N.S.W.), B. Sivley (N.S.W.). Five-eighths: Hawthorne (NSW), Trivet (Qld), Pryde (NSW), M. Ross (NSW). Halves: Catchpole (NSW), Lawrence (Qld), W: Rouen (NSW), G. Moore (NSW). Hookers: Johnson (NSW), Gunn (Qld), A. Laurie (NSW), M. Jekinson (NSW). Props: Prosser (NSW), Austin (NSW), J. Suckling (Tasmania), J. Kulke (Vic), The players will be divided into four teams to play trial matches in Sydney next month.
The 23 players to represent Australia will be named on July 19 after the final trial match on July 18. The team will go to New Zealand early in August for a three weeks tour.
