Meeting Of Creditors
Unsecured debts of about £lOO4 were shown by Peter Lyall Heath, aged 24, a textile worker, when he met creditors. Heath was adjudged bankrupt on June 14. Heath said he had book debts of £520. These, he told the meeting, were recoverable. His assets were a few articles of furniture and a radiogram valued at £6O.
Heath said he started a sign-writing business in Blenheim with no capital. He then built a house with the help of a State Advances Corporation loan, but the house cost him far more than he expected. The sign-writing was affecting his eyesight, so he moved to Christchurch after selling the house. All the money was put into a fruit, grocery, and confectionery shop in Riccarton road, but he ran Into difficulties there. The Official Assignee (Mr P. D. Clancy) closed the meeting
