PUBLIC NOTICES MALVERN COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES PURSUANT to the provisions of the Counties Act, 1956,. and subsequent amendments . thereto, Public Notice is hereby given that the Malvern County Council has approved the following estimates of Income and Expenditure for the period commencing on the Ist day of April. 1964, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1965.

EXPENDITURE— County Roads and Bridges . 63,750 S.H. 72 Mtce. and ’ Const. .. 15,315 Reserves Maintenance 750. Housing . 3,450 Plant. Mtce. and Other Works .. 32.295 Inspection .. 2,070 Loan Charges .. 1,460 Administration .. 8,580 Miscellaneous .. 1,345 129,015 3. Of the additional sum of £39,772 required the sum of £28,440 is payable by the Malvern area (containing the Ridings of Courtenay, Homebush and Sheffield) and the sum of £11,332 is payable by the Selwyn Riding (being that portion of the old Selwyn County now included within the Malvern County), in proportion to the capital value of the respective areas. . , 4. The capital value of all rateabe property as appearing on the Valuation Rolls of the respective areas is Malvern area £6,165,705, • Selwyn Riding £2,442,380. 5. The general rate thereon necessary to raise the required sum is ij Pence in the £ in each of the said areas. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 54 of the Rating Act, 1925. and amendments thereto Further Notice is hereby given that at the expiration of 14 days from the date of this notice it is the Intention of the Malvern County Council to make and levy the following rates and charges. 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 167 of the Counties Act, 1956, and subsequent amendments a General Rate on the rateable capital value of all rateable property jn the several ridings of the County as follows: (a) Malvern Area (containing the ridings of Courtenay, Homebush and Sheffeld) a General Rate of lid in the £. (b) Selwyn Riding (containing that portion of the Old Selwyn County now included within the Malvern County) a General rate of lid in the £; 2. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 112 of the Counties Act, 1956, a Separate Rate of 23-64th pence in the £ on the Capital. Value of all rateable property Within the Hororata River District appearing on the Valuation Rolls of the Malvern County.

3. Such rates as are directed by Special Order of the North Canterbury Catchment Board. 4. Water charges as detailed In the By-laws of the respective Water Race Districts as follows: Malvern Water Race District Hororata-Snowdon Water Race District. Downs Road Water Supply District. The whole of the above rates and charges to be for the period commencing on the Ist Day of April, 1964, and ending on 31st Day of March, 1965, and shall become due and payable in one sum on the 19th day of August, 1964, at the office of the Malvern County Council, Darfleld, where the Valuation Rolls are now open for Inspection.
