INJURIES TO GIRL
Court Awards £20,978 (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 18. Damages of £20,978 were awarded in the Supreme Court at Auckland today to an 18-year-old girl who was severely injured in a motor accident in April, 1962. The plaintiff, Helen Margaret Calvert, of Auckland, a laboratory technician, cited Allan James Osborne, of Kaukapakapa, a farmer, as defendant. Roy John White, of Auckland, a machinist, was named as third party. Miss Calvert’s claim, for general damages of £25,000 and special damages of £1278 16s Id, arose from an accident near Dairy Flat in April. 1962.
Mr Justice Perry entered judgment against Osborne for £20,978, and against White in favour of Osborne for £8391 10s.
