Remainder Of Vice-Regal Tour Cancelled

TIMARU, June 18. Because of a severe attack of influenza the GovernorGeneral (Sir Bernard Fergusson) has been obliged to cancel the remainder of his tour of South Canterbury and Oaniaru. according to an official announcement this afternoon. Sir Bernard Fergusson. against medical advice, yesterday morning made formal visits to Pleasant Point and Temuka, but after being visited by a doctor late yesterday afternoon was confined to bed.
Lady Fergusson filled all formal engagements last night and today. The scheduled visits to Waimate tomorrow and Oamaru on Monday have been cancelled.
It is expected that the Gov-ernor-General will fly to Wellington from the Timaru Airport either on Sunday or Monday. Several informal visits may be made to Timaru institutions tomorrow by Lady Fergusson.
