Sewer Work Contracts
Canterbury Pipe Lines, Ltd, has been awarded the contract; for the ninth section of the. Northcote area sewer reticulation project by the Christchurch Drainage Board. The company’s tender of £22,088 was the lowest of the six received. Others were:—Rush Conttruction Company Ltd, £22,178: Euro-Pacific Construction Company, £222262; E. M. Hobson Ltd, £22,611; J. C. Haworth, £24,618; A Edmond and Son, Ltd, £26.758. In the 4a section of the project, a contract was let to E. M.- Hobson, Ltd, for £10,715. This was the lowest of eight tenders which ranged to £20,549.
Sweden is combatting an alcoholic problem with an intensive advertising campaign to “drink more wine.”— (Reuter).
