Anderson To Appeal

WELLINGTON, May 28.
Rang! Haumata Anderson today lodged an appeal against his conviction for murder. The 23-year-old workman was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Chief Justice (Sir Harold Barrowclough) on May 21 after a jury had found him guilty of the murder of Janet Ruth Coulson.
Anderson’s ground for appeal is a ruling of his Honour excluding evidence in support of a defence of provocation.
