Oil Drilling Suspended
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, May 28. Drilling by Shell-8.P.-Todd Oil Services, Ltd., in the Arahura valley has been suspended at a depth of 5695 ft. After piercing through rock, sufficient information was obtained to show that further drilling would be useless. Mr O. van Slippenberg, who is in charge of operations, said this evening that the hole would be plugged up to 3000 ft. Then two more tests would be made in the same bore and if no satisfactory result was obtained, the plant would close completely and the equipment would be dismantled and removed next week.
