Eight members of the visiting Australian Universities Rugby team were on a cruise of Lyttelton harbour yesterday afternoon when the engine of their launch broke down. The launch, the Tuatea, which is owned by Mr A. Scott, a Lyttelton publican, drifted close to some rocks and the Australians had to fend it off with boathooks. The Lyttelton Harbour Board’s pilot launch Wairangi then arrived and towed the Tuatea back to port. • House Passed In Offered on account of the estate of John Joseph Rowberry, a house at 7 Harrow street, Linwood, was passed in at £l6OO at public auction yesterday. The auctioneer was Mr L. Aitken. The house has two bedrooms, lounge, livingroom, kitchenette, bathroom, and laundry. There is also a workshop on the section of 22 perches. The rates are £23 6s 2d. ‘ New Stamps New Zealand sea birds will be featured for the first time on two new Health Stamps to be issued on August 5.
