DISABILITY OVERCOME.—Mr Victor Davey, who is a skilled draughtsman in spite of having lost both hands in a fireworks explosion when a schoolboy. He was recently awarded the British Constructional Steelwork Association’s prize for his work on the new Derby College of Technology. A spokesman for the firm which employs him said: “Victor has ability that would be remarkable even without his disability. The award shows our admiration for the way he has overcome his handicap.” Mr Davey is 22, and lives at Alfreton, Derbyshire.
