BIG PLANT PLANNED
U.S. Chemical Firm
Inquiries had been received from a big American chemical corporation interested in setting up a £750,000 plant in New Zealand, the Canterbury Public Relations officer (Mr C. N. Todd) told a meeting of the Canterbury Progress League last evening. Mr Todd said he understood the firm would decide between Auckland and Canterbury. In Canterbury, the three locations being considered were Christchurch, Kaiapoi and Rangiora. The public relations office had supplied the American firm with all the necessary information and material. Information had also been supplied to an American manufacturer interested in setting up a pet fobd plant in New Zealand.
