No Thornhill Crescent
Although the proposed situation of a home for intellectually-handicapped children on Cashmere Hills has been widely advertised at 141 Thornhill crescent, no such street exists. The property is at 141 Hackthorne road.
Appearing for 32 objectors to the establishing of the home at a special meeting of the Heathcote County Council last evening. Mr J. G. Leggat submitted that Thornhill crescent had been used to mislead local residents.
This was denied by Arthur Gerrit Van Ascii, a member of the New Zealand Trust Board for Home Schools for Curative Education of Intellectually Handicapped Children, during his evidence to the council.
