Senator Goldwater said last night he had been misquoted on the use of nuclear weapons in South Vietnam. “1 would never use a nucilear weapon when a convenjtional weapon would do,” he i said. ‘.‘l would leave it up to the commanders.” He said reports of a broadcast on Sunday made it sound as if he favoured nuclear weapons. “No, I do not,” he said.
