£80 A Week For Miners
(Special Crspdt N Z PA) LONDON, May 27. Two miners in the Leicestershire coalfield are earning more than £4OOO a year each, it was stated at a Leicestershire miners’ conference. The two men work together on contract as rippe.s. cutting an underground tunnel, and each week they share a £l6O pay-packet. But they work long hours at an arduous job and their earnings are exceptional.
