HOPES FOR TOUR
“Raw Young Forwards” (N.Z. Press Association) • AUCKLAND, May 26. “We are' taking away a number of raw young players —particularly in the forwards —and hope to bring them back much closer to All Black class,” the manager of the touring New Zealand Colts team (Mr M. Ingpen) said tonight.
The team held its final training run at Eden Park today.. it departs on a sevenmatch tour of Australia tomorrow.
Mr Ingpen said the forwards had already shown improvement under the coaching of a former Kiwi, Mr J. Finlay,, and the All Black captain, W. J. Whineray. Mr Finlay will coach the team during the tour. “The team will attempt to play good elementary Rugby,” said Mr Ingpen. With six of the 12 blacks already All Blacks they are obviously more experienced than, the forwards.
