CHAMPION AGAIN
Girls’ Golf To Miss Butler (N.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON, May 21. Miss J. Butler, of Auckland, won the New Zealand girls’ golf championship at Masterton today, beating Miss D. Peters, of Waikato, 4 and 3, in the final. It was the third time in succession Miss Butler has won the title.
Miss Butler played with more confidence and had better finish to her shots. Miss Peters failed to settle down t> play consistent golf, but kept in the match with some good recovery shots round the greens.
In the semi-finals, Miss Butler played well controlled golf to beat the less experienced Miss M. Ensor, of Canterbury, 5 and 4. Miss Peters beat Miss J. Hanratty, of Wellington, 2 and 1.
