Drove Under Influence
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 19. A 48-year-old taxi driver, Gordon Ernest Sauer, was gaoled for 10 days by Mr J. D. Willis, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court today after admitting driving while under the influence of drink or drugs yesterday.
His licence was cancelled and he was disqualified from obtaining another for three years.
Sauer was represented by Mr J. M. Hanan, who said he had been employed as a taxi driver with a local concern for the last six years, and had been a constable for 16 years before that.
