SKATES IN BUSES
Danger Seen Skates hanging from bus passengers’ .shoulders were a danger to others and to the upholstery, of. buses, said Mr R. H. Stillwell when the Christchurch . Transport Board’s .committees met bn Monday. “Passengers should be told politely to put their skates on the floor,” he said. •’ Bowlers carried their bowls in bags, said Mr H; E. Denton. If roller skates were put on the floor they could be as dangferous as those hanging on passengers’ shoulders. Perhaps the board should introduce a regulation that all skates be carried in a container.
Ice skates were the trouble, said the general manager (Mr J. F. Fardell). .It was intended to put notices in the buses, asking passengers to put them safely on the floor, and the help of the ice skating rink proprietor would be sought. ,
