Tenders Let For Two Jobs
Contracts for a major .extension of its Cashel street frontage and for a new building on its Durham street property have been let by Whitcombe and Tombs, Ltd. The plans in Cashel street involve the modernisation of the shop frontage and the bringing into the main store of the shops at present occupied by Taylor’s Cleaners and Dyers, Ltd., and the Canterbury Sports Depot. When the dividing wall is removed an additional 2088 sq. ft. of floor space will be made available. The contract has been let to R. C. Jamieson, Ltd. The contract for the new Durham street building has been let to C. S. Luney, Ltd. The new Durham street building is an extension of the company’s packaging division. The building will be of two storeys and will provide an additional 15,000 sq. ft. Work on both jobs is expected to be completed within four months.
