SMART NEW FREIGHTER
Karepo Built In Hong Kong (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 17. The Union Steam Ship Company’s Karepo reached Auckland today on its delivery voyage from Hong Kong. The smart-looking freighter, under Captain P. H. Pallin, brought a steel cargo from Newcastle.
The Karepo wiil be used on the trans-Tasman trade and is scheduled to go to Tauranga next Wednesday to load pulp and timber for Hobart and Melbourne.
The Karepo has refrigerated lockers and on her first trip will take a cargo of fish.
