CLIMB NEAR EVEREST
N.Z. Party Of 13 Planned
The party for the forthcoming expedition to the Mount Everest region scheduled for September, would consist of 13 members, mainly New Zealanders, said Sir Edmund- Hillary, on his arrival in Christchurch by air He returned from a 4 J week visit to the United States, London, Calcutta, and Bangkok. The composition of the party would be decided in the next week or so but it would include physiologists. The party would be an enthusiastic group. “None of us are very famous," he said. The party would attempt to climb the virgin 21,700 ft high Tamserku. Other objectives on the expedition included building three schools, building a small airfield and doing a physiological programme with the Sherpas.
