Good Steeples Field
Last year’s winner of the Kennett Cup steeplechase, P. N. Sidon, of Otago, will not compete in the annual race at Riccarton Racecourse today, but it is still an exceptionally strong field. Three former winners, one of them the record holder,
are among the entrants —A. Potts (Celtic United, Dunedin), who set the record of 16min Isec for the three miles and a quarter event in 1960, J. D. Macdonald (Olympic), and K. E. Williams (Nelson), several times national harrier champion.
