Squire Not Starting
Squire, one of the early favourites for the President’s Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at Washdyke today, was scratched yesterday. A winner at his last two starts. Squire will probably race next at the Canterbury Park meeting next Saturday, to be followed by the Ashburton winter meeting. R. P. Nyhan will drive Transtar. Evening Twilight, Stormy Reef and Joyeuse at Washdyke. C. S. Donald will be at the Amberley meeting where he has Quesnel and Shinto engaged in the events for pacers.
