The salarv range for Readers Is £A3300-100-3600 and for Senior Lecturers is FA2700-110-3250. Superannuation is on the F.S.S.U. pattern. W. Titterton, C.M.G., F.A.A.). Among the posts available are: Senior Fellowship Fellowship Senior Research Fellowship Research Fellowship The salary and range of a Senior Fellow are determined within the limits £A3300-3850 and of a Fellow within the limits £A2400-3300. Appointment is made for an Initial period of five years; thereafter it may be permanent. A Senior Fellow is entitled to one year’s study leave on full pay, plus a contribution towards travel and other expenses, In every six years of service, and a Fellow in every seven years. The salary and range of a Senior Research Fellow are determined within the limits of 1A2900-3460. and of a Research Fellow within the limits £AI9SO- - Appointment is for three years, with a possible extension to five. The Department Is well equipped with a 12 MeV Tandem MeV Van der Graaff generator, electrostatic accelerators a 2 and a 1.2 MeV Cockroft-Walton machine. Two precision particle spectrometer, a Beuchner spectograph, crystal, solid state, gas and emulsion detectors with associated multichannel recording equipment, are available for use with these machines. An IBM 1620 computer is available for data reduction. The main fields of work are In nuclear structure studies. Superannuation Is on the F.S.S.U. pattern. Reasonable travel expenses are paid, and assistance with housing is provided. Ip addition to the posts referred to above, a number of scholarships is available for men who have completed a M.Sc. degree or who have had outstanding results in their Honours B.Sc. examinations. The scholarships are tenable for two or three years, and the basic allowance is £A1025 per annum; married scholars with dependent children may be granted an additional allowance of £A325 per annum in respect of the first child and a further £A9S per annum for each other child.
