FARM PUBLIC RELATIONS
Advised Not To Be Parochial
Farmers were urged not to become too parochial, and to foster public relations, by the chairman of the North Canterbury agriculture section of Federated Farmers (Mr J. F. N. Twose), in his report to the section’s annual conference yesterday. “In the last 30 years our mode of transport has been speeded up by leaps and bounds and our outlook must advance to keep pace with it. The days when one’s own interests were the only concern are fast disappearing. With this in view we must advance and not become too parochial,” Mr Twose said. He said farmers must learn to live more with their fellow men and foster public relations by visits to different industries and by inviting others to visit their farms. This would give a better understanding of the problems facing each section of the community.
