ABEL TASMAN PARK
Headquarters Planned
The Abel Tasman National Park Board has approved in principle the design of the park’s proposed new headquarters building at Totaranui, on the shore of Tasman Bay. The building will contain the ranger’s office, a public information space, and a hall to seat 100 persons which will house Maori artifacts and other historical material.
A hut has been erected in Anapai Bay in the park, with foot and boat access only. A new track has been built from Torrent Bay to the falls in Falls river, shortcircuiting a steep route over Bare Knob.
