VISIT OFF?
Although no official word has been received by the Lyttelton Borough Council, the proposed visit of the GovernorGeneral, Sir Bernard Fe.rgusson and Lady Fergusson to the port on June 10 may be off. “Parliament opens on June 16 but it is not up to us to point this out to the visit organisers.” said the Mayor (Mr J. B. Collett) at a meeting of the council last evening. “We must carry on with our plans.”
