Engagement Revealed

Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 23. “Miss New Zealand, 1963,” 19-year-old Elaine Miscall, of Wellington, today officially announced her engagement to Mr John Daley, an Auckland television personality. She gained second place in the last “Miss World” contest. She became engaged some time ago but the announcement was delayed until today because of her heavy commitments, including a recent tour for the Wool Board. She had kept her 23-diamond ring hidden until today. No date has been set for the wedding. Miss Miscall met her fiance when she won £l5 in the “Note for Note” show. She is to leave soon on a fiveweek tour with finalists in the “Miss New Zealand 1964”, contest. She intends to continue modelling until her marriage.
