Union’s Policy On Smuggling

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 31. The New Zealand Federated Seamen’s Union would take action against any of its members . found guilty of smuggling in connexion with the contraband found recently in the inter-colonial vessel Wairimu in Auckland, the secretary of the union (Mr L. Barber) said yesterday. He said past actions and official statements by the union showed that it always had been opposed to any questionable actions or dealings by seamen.
