Totalisator turnovers on the second day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s autumn meeting at Riccarton yesterday again showed substantial increases.

Off-course bets more than doubled and oncourse bets were up by £9013 10s.

The amount handled by the T.A.B. on yesterday’s racing was £114,896 10s, including £57,510 on the double, compared with £45,805 last year, when the club raced on Tuesday in competition with other clubs. On-course bets were £52,868 10s, including £7286 on the double, compared with £43,855 last year.
