CHANGE OF LICENCE

Commission’s Decision

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, April 1. The Licensing Control Commission has decided it can issue a hotel premises licence or a tavern premises licence in place of a provisional hotel premises licence.

The commission will grant the exchange on either written or oral application, if and when the premises under consideration are of a proper standard. In a decision released last month, the commission said the question of change in status had been raised at Dannevirke. It had been asked whether, on a review conducted under sections 310 to 313 of the Sale of Liquor Act, 1962, the holder of a provisional hotel premises licence was entitled to exercise the right conferred on him by section 306 of the act to be granted a hotel premises licence.
