Mr G. Wilson, Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, has arrived in Kuala Lumpur for talks with the Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia.—(P.A.) Mr F. D. Winter, of Wellington, has been appointed secretary of the New Zealand Institute of Architects. Mr Winter was educated at Te Aute College and joined the Department of Maori Affairs in 1924. In 1947 he was appointed assistant general-secretary and later became deputy generalsecretary of the New Zealand Public Service Association.
Dr. Graeme Searle, an honours graduate of the University of Canterbury, has left with his wife for England to take up a research fellowship at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. For three years Dr. Searle has been working on the chemistry of metal complexes at the Australian National University at Canberra where he was awarded his Ph.D. Mr W. H. Bowen has been elected chairman of the Cashmere High School board of governors, succeeding Professor A Crowther. He will also represent the board on the Post-primary Schools’ Council. Mr R. R. Beauchamp has been elected deputy chairman. t
