TROTTING NEW TRACK AT GORE
Clubs Discuss Proposal (N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, March 24. A new all-weather five-fur-long trotting track is likely to be built at the Gore racecourse in the near future. Last week sub-committees of the Gore Racing Club and Gore Trotting Club discussed the proposal for the formation of a new trotting track, plus additional galloping training tracks. The question will probably be discussed in the near future by full meetings of both clubs. It is planned to form the new all-weather trotting track inside the existing mile grass track. This will make new galloping training tracks necessary. These are expected to be built on a property of 93 acres, owned by the trotting club, which is adjacent to the present course.
