Cup final in May, had its hopes of a double dashed yesterday when it was beaten in the semi-finals of the English League Cup. West Ham lost 0-2 at home to Leicester City in the second leg game. Leicester won, 6-3, on aggregate and now meets Stoke City in the final of this competition. Results of English league matches yesterday were:

Scottish professional soccer clubs yesterday rejected a proposal that the 37 league teams should be split into three divisions instead of two.
