Canterbury Museum
Sir, —Whilst we, as caterers to the Canterbury Museum, appreciate the kind remarks of your correspondent about our service and staff at the garden court coffee bar, my staff and I cannot agree with the correspondent’s remarks about the custodians. We have never heard the custodians shout at visitors; on the contrary, remarks were' made to us on the helpfulness and outstanding courtesy shown. As an employer of a very large labour force, I must assume that the men have been screened for their patience, tact, and behaviour; otherwise their nerves would not stand the many questions. The custodians willingly and politely answer all questions. These are so unnecessary, as signs explain everything everywhere, apart from all other work they have to do to keep this outstanding showpiece of Christchurch in such perfect order.—Yours, etc., KEN GOODMAN. March 24, 1964.
