Aramoana Potato Shipments
During the 1963 potato season, the Aramoana carried a total of 13,783 tons of potatoes from the South Island to the North and a total of 724 tons of new season’s potatoes from the North Island to the South. This epresents approximately 206,745 sacks from the south to the north and 10,860 sacks from the north to the south. Because the Aramoana did not operate for a complete season the previous year, no comparable figures are available.
