The leading Sydney jockey, G. Podmore, who was injured in a race fail yesterday, is engaged to ride the New Zealand stayer, Summer Regent, in the Sydney Cup on Easter Monday, but it is not yet known whether he will be fit enough to accept the mount.
Podmore is suffering from concussion. His condition today was given as satisfactory. Summer Regent is not in the £lO,OOO Handicap on Saturday. He will have his final Sydney Cup trial in the weight-for-age Queen Elizabeth Stakes next Wednesday.
