LOWER GRADE CRICKET

Tenth round matches were completed on Saturday tn the Canterbury Cricket Association's competitions. Lower grade results were as follows: SECOND GRADE A Lancaster Park 235 for nine declared and 136 for three (Graham 72 not out) beat Christ's College 176 and 193 (Wilder 39. Blakely 35: Walklin three for 33, Woolford four for 47) by seven wickets. Boys’ High School 251 for eight declared and 74 for eight declared (Todd four for 22. Wylie four for 29) beat St. Albans 164 (Dempsey 37: Trist four for 47, Hounsell five for 71) and 94 for three (Ripley 30) on the first innings. High School Old Boys 282 beat East-Shirley 120 (Anderson five for 36) and 112 (Hicks 33: Small five for 31. Anderson five for 51) by an innings and 50 runs. SECOND GRADE B Sydenham 176 (Kerr 57: Bryce seven for 75) beat Burnside 93 and 74 (Harliwich six for 10) by an innings and 9 runs. Old Collegians 154 and 164 for seven declared (Wilkins 34, Moffat 32: Guthrie four for 64) beat Marist 137 (Gibson three for 47) and 78 for six on the first innings. Riccarton 207 for six declared and 9 for none beat West-University 98 and 116 by 10 wickets. SECOND GRADE B Marist 103 and 126 for six (Mcßride 52; Hubbard four for 30) beat St. Albans-Teachers' College 71 and 153 (Tait 54 not out: Mcßride three for 23, McNamara three’ for 36, Amos three for 37) by four wickets. Old Collegians 122 for six declared and 114 for five (Saunders 49 not out; Warburton three for 29) beat East-Shirley 85 and 149 (Warburton 36; Miller six for 76) by five wickets. Lancaster Park 287 for seven (Harrison 61, Rose 48, Wards 30 not out; Rutherford three for 63) beat Shirley Boys’ High School 241 on the first innings.

PRESIDENT'S GRADE High School Old Boys 178 for nine (Baxter 106 not out) beat Riccarton 177 for six declared (Garnett 51 not out) on the first innings. Old Collegians 114 for seven declared (Adams 30; Johnston six for 34) beat West-Unlventty A 48 (Macbeth four for 7. Peers five for 20) and 25 for two on the first innings. "st. Albans 203 for five declared (Langley 104 not out. Holliday 47. McLauchlan 40) drew with East-Shirley 105 for five (Gearry 34). Lancaster Park B 120 for seven (Sutherland 58: Ryan four for 25) beat Marist 118 (King three for 20, Saunders four for 33) on the first innings. Sydenham 214 for nine declared (Malndonald 107. Mahan 38; Hopkins six for 52) drew with West-University B 142 for nine (Hopkins 57, Wilson 32: Butterfield four for 12). THIRD GRADR A Old Collegians A 66 and 56 for three beat East-Shirley 52 and 68 (Anderson three for 17. Barwick four for 33) by seven wickets. Riccarton 141 for four declared and 69 for two (Macmillan 42 not out) beat Old Collegians B 66 and 134 (Pearce 46; Hearn four for 15, McNaughton four for 34) by eight wickets. Technical Old Boys 121 and 110 for eight (Clark three for 35, Taylor four for 48) beat High School Old Boys 108 and 129 (Ainsworth 43; Gray five for 39, Ellis three for 44) on the first innings. St. Albans beat Lancaster Park by default. THIRD GRADR B Lancaster Park A 237 for seven declared (Taylor 102 not out. Smith 65.
