Scoring 58 in West Christchurch • University’s second innings against Old Collegians, B. F. Hastings set a new postwar record of 818 runs in Christchurch club cricket The previous record of 817 runs was set by Hastings last season when he passed the 813 mark held jointly by P. G. Z. Harris and W. A. Hadlee. With one match to play, Hastings, in his present form, could set a formidable total.
