PACER WAS POISONED

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, March 13. Mr W. Clinton, the Sydney owner of Little Maori, said last night that his InterDbminion failure “could have been nobbled” in Melbourne before the race last Saturday. Little Maori became sick and almost died during the return float trip to Sydney the day after the championship, Mr Clinton said. Veterinary surgeons told the trainer, L. Moulds, and Mr Clinton that Little Maori was suffering from toxic poisoning. She is almost paralysed and has had a 103-degree temperature since Monday. Tonight Moulds said: “She could have picked up the poison a dozen ways but I know she was perfectly normal when she arrived at the Melbourne Show Grounds on Saturday night.”
