Nine Yearlings Change Hands
Nine yearlings which failed to reach their reserve at the National Sales of Standardbred Yearlings on Thursday have since been sold privately. They boosted the sales’ aggregate by 3220gns. The top-priced lot was a U. Scott—'Local Inn colt which changed hands at 775gns. This youngster, which was passed in on Thursday at 725gns, was bought by Dal-gety-N.Z. Loan Company, Christchurch as agents. The vendor was Mr J. P. Muldoon, of Christchurch. Four lots were sold to Australian buyers. They included a Garrison Hanover —Audacity filly for which Mr W. Picken, of Sydney, paid 475gns, and for a colt by Stormyway from Rusticate. P. J. Hall, of Sydney, had to go to 400gns to secure this youngster. The Garrison Hanover filly was offered on behalf of Mr J. W. Dalgety, of Oatnaru. She had been passed in at 400gns. The vendor of the Stormyway colt, which was passed in at 250gns on Thursday, was Mr J. M. Connolly, of Geraldine. Other additional sales were:— On account Mr R. A.
