Organisation Of Teaching For the next 12 months, possibly for the next two years, the science programme in Western Nigerian posprimary schools will be directed by Mr F. N. Wylde, of Christchurch. Mr Wylde, the senior inspector of post-primary schools, will head the special science organisation attached to the Nigerian Department of Education at the invitation of U.N.E.S.C.O. Mr Wylde will reorganise the science curricula and train science teachers. '•This will be part of a seven-year plan to increase the available skilled manpower. to accelerate the programme of teacher training and to diversify education at the post-primary level,” said Mr Wylde. Mr Wylde, accompanied by his wife and daughter, will leave New Zealand On March 24. A colony of New Zealanders is growing in Nigeria and Mr Wylde will join Mr T. Wilson, former principal of Ardmore Teachers’ College, who is head of the UJJ.E.S.C.O. mission, and Mr A. H. Thom, a former district senior inspector of postpimary schools in Auckland, who was once stationed in Christchurch.
