RICCARTON PLAYERS

Year’s Activities Outlined This year held much interest for all members, both on and off stage, as there was in production a three-act play for the festival to be held in the first week of May, and there would be another three-act play in August and a pantomime in December, said the retiring president of the Riccarton Players (Mr P. Rutledge) in his report to the annual meeting. Mr Rutledge said that attendances increased at each presentation last year. It was essential, he added, to recruit members, not only to increase the size of the group, but to replace those who had left the district. Officers elected were:— President, Mr S. Cross; vicepresidents, Messrs P. Rutledge and A. Burns: secretary, Mrs J. Wilkinson; treasurer, Mr N. Wilkinson; librarian, Mrs V. Fanning; committee, Mesdames THenderson and E. Stent, Miss M. Scott, and Messrs B. Henderson, R. Smith and J. Pope.
