COMPENSATION DECISION
Not Included In Lump Sum (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Feb. 17. Allowances to be paid to dependants of a totally incapacitated worker are not to be included in the lump sum compensation awarded the worker. Judge Dalglish said in a written decision released from the Compensation Court. The question arose when a painter fell from a ladder in the course of his work and was judged totally incapacitated. He received £lO 5s a week compensation and £3 a week for his wife and children.
The man claimed a lump sum, but doubt arose at the hearing as to whether the family allowances could only be paid white the injured man was collecting weekly payments.
