PRESTRESSED CONCRETE
Formation Of N.Z. Institute A New Zealand Prestressed Concrete Institute was filmed in Wellington last week at a meeting of persons actively interested in the industry in New Zealand. The objects of the institute are to encourage, develop, and promote the use of prestressed concrete by making available to the industry all possible data on the development, both in New Zealand and overseas, of design, manufacture, and construction techniques. The institute will represent the industry in negotiations with Government departments and local authorities. Officers elected were:— president, Mr H. W. Cormack: vice-president, Mr R. G. Norman; council. Messrs M. A. Craven, I. L. Holmes, R. McK. Jeffrey, and K. Douglass: sec-retary-treasurer, Mr M. D. I Brice.
