VISITING AIRCRAFT
Flights Over Chch. Today Two types of top military aircraft will make brief appearances over several South Island centres, including Christchurch, today. They are an R.A.F, crescent-wing victor bomber and a flight of three United States Air Force FlO5 Thunderchiefs. The Thunderchiefs will be over Christchurch at 1126 a.m., flying at 1000 ft and 400 miles an hour.
The aircraft are in New Zealand for Air Force Day at Ohakea on Saturday. They will fly over most centres in New Zealand today and. if the weather remains fine, further flights may be made tomorrow. The times when the aircraft may be seen today are" Thunderchiefs Oamaru, 10.58 a.m.: Timaru, 11.3’ a.m.; Ashburton, 1115 a.m.; Christchurch. 11.26 amBlenheim. 11.45 a.m. Victor Bomber.—Nelson. 10.58 a.m.; Westport. 11.21 a.m.; Greymouth, 11.36 a.m • Oamaru, 1.26 p.m.; Timaru 1.42 p.m.; Temuka, 1.48 p.m; Ashburton, 1.55 p.m.; Lincoln, 2.3 p.m.; Christchurch, 2.6 p.m.; Waipara, 2.24 p.m.; Cheviot, 2.31 p.m.; Kaikoura, 2.38 p.m.; Blenheim, 2.55 p.m’ All times are approximate.
