RESCUE IN BATHS
Children Help Classmate (NJ!. Pres* Awoetation) DUNEDIN, Feb. 14. A 12-year-old schoolgirl was saved from drowning in the Mosgiel baths thia afternoon by the combined efforts of classmate the baths custodian, and a woman. - A class of children from St Mary’s School was attending the baths for swimming lessons ' when Ann* Johnston, aged 12, saw Nola Fitzgerald, of 58 Church street, Mosgiel, lying face down on the bottom of the baths. She dived to her aid and with the assistance of other girls, brought Nola to toe edge of the pool. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation applied by the baths custodian, Mr R. Wilson, and later by Mrs A. M. Swanney, was successful. The girl had regained consciousness by toe time toe first of two doctors arrived at the baths. . After a medical examination she was taken to her home and was reported tonight to be “much better.”
