PRAISE FOR ADDINGTON

Yonkers Head At Meeting High praise for the improvements carried out at Addington Raceway in the last 12 months was given by the president of Yonkers Raceway (Mr M. Tananbaum) and his chief promotions officer (Mr I. Rudd), who attended the New Brighton Trotting Club’s autumn meeting on Saturday.

Messrs Tananbaum and Rudd were in- Christchurch making Inquiries about signing up horses for the international pacing and trotting series to be run in New York during the New Zealand winter.

"We know what we want, but whether we Will get it is another thing,” said Mr Tananbaum, obviously referring to Cardigan Bay.

Mr Tananbaum was most enthusiastic about Great Credit’s run for second in the New Brighton Cup on Saturday, while he also thought Orbiter’s end-to-end win was a splendid effort.

Great Credit is to travel to the United States in the next few months and he could well be invited to compete in the international series.

Messrs Tarianbaum and Rudd were to travel to Sydney yesterday and then go on to Melbourne for the In? ter-Dominioh Championship series, which starts on Saturday. On their way home they will stop in Japan and look at trotting .in that country. “We have no idea what we will find there,” said Mr Tananbaum. “A Japanese official was in New York last year and invited us to look at trotting in his country.
