United Leading By 21 Points Narrowly beating Kaituna by seven runs on the first innings, United took a lead of 21 points in the Banks Peninsula senior cricket competition. Scores were:— United 138 (R. Kay 66. W. McLeod 27; L. Lanauze six for 60, N. Allen three for .39) beat Kaituna 131 (E. Turner 71; J. Plummer seven for 53.- G, Moore two for 14). Akaroa 174 for three wickets (J. Carodus 75, P. Ferguson 39, M. Johnson 46; R. Wear two for 26) beat Wainul. 173 (D. McPhail 50, W. Swallow 39, B. Southam 28); J. Carodus three for 56, P. Cook three for 49). Le Bon’s Bay 149 for nine wickets declared (P. De Latour 22, P. Johnstone 34, H. Dalglish 20; D. Templeton two for 22, K. Abrahams two for 21, M. Barclay two for 19, J. Mathias two for 22) beat Little River 107 (M. Barclay 41, R. Newby 22; D. Masefield four for 35, C. Grigg two for 36 P. Johnston two for 27) • Points are: United 94, Kaituna 73, Le Bon’s 70 Little River 61, Akaroa 50, Wainui 36.
