LATE FERRY SAILINGS
Arrangements For Choirs Railway and inter-island steamer-express time - tables will be adjusted early hext month to enable the choirs of the Royal Christchurch Musical Society and the Christchurch Harmonic Society to travel to Wellington immediately after a performance of “Belshazzar’s Feast” in Canterbury Court on March 7 under the conduc-. tor ship of the composer, Sir William Walton. These arrangements have been made by the Railways Department and- the Union Steam Ship Company so that the’ choirs can visit Welling-: ton at the special request of the .Broadcasting Corporation to give a second performance in the Town Hall. The chairman of the promotion sub-committee of the Civic Music Council (Sir James Hay), who announced the. arrangements, said that immediately after the concert at Canterbury Court the 400 members of the choirs would be taken by waiting buses to the steamerexpress, embarking about 11.30 p.m. The same procedure would be followed on the night of March 9 after the concert in the Town Hall in Wellington. Sir James Hay said it was expected that the steamerexpress would arrive at Lyttelton bn March 10 in time to catch the south express, which would be delayed if ncessary.
